Day 52: Bekkaku Temple 19, Main Temple 83

*Hondo* – Ichinomiyaji (Temple 83 – “First Shrine Temple”)

Tamura Shrine – This is the shrine located “next door” to Ichinomiyaji. The best way I could think to describe is the “House on the Rock of Shrines.” There’s a little bit of everything there.

Tamura Shrine. I haven’t done any further research yet, but I’m confident this statue is related to the folklore of Momotaro (“Peach Boy”) and quest to fight an island full of demons. (He teams up with a bird, a dog, and a monkey as he travels to the island.)
